IFTA requirements

Operators who transport goods and services across state lines are required to comply with New Brunswick IFTA license regulations

This requirement applies to vehicles that have two axles and a GVW or registered GVW in excess of 26,000 pounds, three or more axles regardless of weight, and combination weight (truck and trailer) that exceeds 26,000 pounds, and those designed, used, and maintained for transporting persons or property

Important to know

New Brunswick allows carriers to apply for IFTA through a paper application or online. Carriers will pay both a licensing fee (cost dependent on how many vehicles you operate) and a decal fee of $25 per vehicle.

New Brunswick will mail a Quarterly filing to each IFTA carrier to mail in for their Quarterly filing or you may register for online filing, where you will receive a code via email to file online every Quarter.

New Brunswick IFTA Renewal:

Regardless of issuing date, your IFTA license will expire on December 31st of the licensing year. Your British Columbia IFTA license must be renewed before the end of each year. The earliest a renewal can be completed is after the 3rd quarter filing is submitted in October.

Decals will typically be sent out in December. Proof of renewal must be available by March 1st of the new licensing year
